Benchmark Indices end higher; Nifty above 11K mark, Sensex gains over 200 points

Indian indices ended higher in today’s trading session led by financial and metal stocks.
Nifty went up by 0.46% or 52.35 points and closed at 11,322.50, while S&P BSE Sensex went up by 0.59% or 224.93 points and closed at 38,407.01.
Around 1559 shares advanced, 1146 shares declined, while 143 shares remained unchanged.
Zee Entertainment (5.16%), Axis Bank (3.92%), JSW Steel (3.94%), BPCL (3.58%), and IndusInd Bank (2.50%) were among top Nifty gainers, while Shree Cements (3.87%), Titan Company (3.57%), UPL (2.33%), Dr. Reddy’s (1.96%), and Cipla (2.09%) were among the top Nifty losers.
All sectoral indices except IT and Pharma ended green. BSE Midcap went down by 0.20% while BSE Smallcap went down by 0.23%.
KEC International
The year-on-year revenue of the company for the first quarter of the FY21 declined by 8.4%. Despite the fall, the stocks of the company went up by 7.34% and traded at Rs.293.95.
Bank of Baroda Limited
Stocks of Bank of Baroda Limited went down by 2.78% and traded at Rs.47.20 after the company reported its June quarter earnings. The bank reported a net loss of Rs.864.3 crore during the first quarter of the FY21.
Motherson Sumi Systems Limited
The revenue of the company declined by 49.4% during the first quarter of the FY21 while the net loss of the company during the period stood at Rs.810.5 crore. Despite this, the stocks of the company went up by 2.38% and traded higher at Rs.107.40.
Bosch Limited
The stocks of Bosch Limited went down by 2.48% and traded at Rs.13,255.00 after the company reported a consolidated net loss of Rs.121.5 crore during the first quarter of the FY21. The revenue of the company too declined by 64%.
Indoco Remedies Limited
The revenue of the company went up by 9.2% while the consolidated net profit of the company during the first quarter of the FY21 stood at Rs.17 crore. The stocks of the company went up by 4.72% and traded at Rs.261.55.
JSW Steel
The crude steel production of the company declined by 5% on a year-on-year basis. The stocks of the company however went up by 3.94% and traded at Rs.254.85.
Shree Cement
The net profit of the company declined by 13.5% during the first quarter of the FY21. The stocks of the company declined by 3.87% and traded at Rs.21,530.00.
Titan Company
The standalone net loss of the company during the first quarter of the FY21 stood at Rs.270 crore while the revenue during the period declined by 62.3%. The stocks of the company tripped down by 3.57% and traded at Rs.1,068.00.
Indian Rupee
Indian rupee ended at Rs.74.77 against the US Dollar amid buying seen in the domestic equity markets.
Global Markets Trade Higher
A recovery in regional economic activity and a rise in the demand for the technology shares resulted in a positive movement of the Asian markets. European markets too ended higher during today’s trading session. FTSE 100 went up by 2.39% while FTSE MIB went up by 2.88%. Nikkei 225 went up by 1.88%, Hang Seng surged by 2.11%, while Nasdaq tripped down by 0.39%.
